While we target 150+ U.S. installations, actually there are more than 512 worldwide. Many of them are “two guys and a dingy” or just a few guys standing guard over a stockpile of equipment. The 512 also take into account the Marines guarding U.S. Embassies.
There are 1.25 million true active duty in the U.S. at any moment in time. Another 150,000+ active duty are at sea on US Navy ships, or stationed overseas primarily in Japan, Korea, Germany, Italy, Spain, Britain, Guam and the Middle East.
Military Out-Of-Home focuses on installations that represent more than 90% of American military headcount here in the U.S. “Headcounts” are moving targets because the DoD does not publish official counts for security reasons. We rely on statements, and published reports released at irregular intervals. When you factor in that Reserves are called to active duty routinely, and that troops are continually transferred, it is reasonable to expect the counts on our spreadsheet may vary a bit. When your buy is imminent, we will advise if there are any substantial variations from counts previously provided.
Finally, advertising on-base is governed by the DoD and branch regulations. Before building a plan or requesting a quote, we recommend you check out who can advertise on base.
